Hello!
Since discontinuing my former blog a while ago, I have found that it's necessary for me to have a place and a space of my own. Social media is great for jokes and recipes, etc., but I find that if I post too much of what I really have to say I tend to start vociferous arguments and lose friends. Therefore, a word of advice to anyone reading this blog:
IF YOU DISAGREE WITH THE OPINIONS HERE STATED, TAKE A HIKE
There is so much going on in this world right now and I was raised from childhood to maintain an awareness and cut through the baloney as pumped out by the media and PR machines.
Let me explain: I am a child of the 60's and 70's, when we began to realize that Big Brother had been pulling the wool over our eyes for years. The older I get and the more history and background to that history I study, the angrier I become.
The forefathers of this nation guaranteed me the right to free speech, and until someone forcibly removes that from my repertoire, I intend to use it. Am I dogmatic? Yes. Am I going to wind up on some organization's hit list of enemies? I hope so. Members of my family have fought to form and defend this nation since 1773, up to and including World War II (sorry, we ran out of boys and women weren't accepted then!). I am a patriot, raised by a father who saw some of the most vicious combat of the Pacific Theater in WWII; bad enough that he never spoke of it. I cry at the Star Spangled Banner and the Marine Hymn. The Battle Hymn of the Republic reduces me to a blithering mess. I bitch at nearby folks if they do not observe proper etiquette when the colors of this nation are being presented. I learned God, Country, Corps from my father, and while I've never served in the military, God and Country have and always will come first in my life.
I don't expect to have an outstanding number of readers for this blog; I'm old and I'm stubborn and I'm set in my ways and it's absolutely my way or the highway on this page.
Feeling brave or even just a tad curious? Come along with me on my own magical mystery tour.
